If you ask me what I like about living in Phnom Penh, the first thing I would say then would be the laid back pace of life here. Almost half my life, I lived in a crowded mega city so I am really craving for some space, a slower life pace and somewhere not too congested with skyscrapers. And I found that here in Phnom Penh.
But I must also admit to occasionally getting cosmopolitan city hunger pangs for malls, shopping, buildings and more shopping. Thankfully, its easy enough to hop on to an Asian mega city and cheap too. In fact, its quite easy to book a cheap flight to Bangkok, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur from Phnom Penh. Lol.
@ Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur.
Anyhow, I was just hit with a sudden craving for some serious shopping and thought that it’ll be great to drop by Kuala Lumpur before going to Manila. And Air Asia had been quite nice with their usual fare sales and I got some tickets at a super low price.
any KL trip won’t be complete with going to Jalan Alor. my Malay food street haven.
So we had our fill of malling, shopping, food, crowds, fast food till my wallet was screaming. Ha! I think I won’t be craving that for sometime so now I’m pretty much Phnom Penh contented again.
