Brunching at NOM Cafe Phnom Penh
This is a very late post. Hmm, the amount of my blog post ‘drafts’ is just embarrassing. But anyway, its better late than never?
This happened one lazy Saturday when the kiddo and I decided to do our bit of cafe food crawling. We settled on going to Boeung Keng Kang and have brunch. We wanted to try out a new place since going to Gloria Jeans and Brown’s didn’t appeal to her. We were driving along St. 51 and glimpsed Nom Cafe and its rather ubiquitous signage. It’s hot pink so of course my daughter said we’d go there. One must never underestimate the lure of hot pink! Hahaha.
But hot pinkness aside, I’m glad we did. I loved this little cafe.
I expected the interiors to be cutesy and pink but I was totally wrong. It’s cozy and yet the layout makes me feel there is a lot of space. Chairs are pretty comfy too. We loved that there were books, game boards provided. It’s just the place to lounge about. Service was also nice and quick.
As for the food. Better than a lot of other cafes. My salad was good and kiddos sandwich.. it was huge and definitely yummy.
I also got to try their potato latte out of curiosity and it was okay, nothing really exceptional. It reminded me of those instant oatmeal drinks. Kiddos drink was good though.
For dessert we shared this..
Pumpkin cheesecake. I thought, what a weird combo, but it was actually nice. Not too sweet and the flavors blended quite well.
Nom Cafe has become one of our favorite cafes. Good food, nice ambiance and affordable too. It’s a good option if you want a change of cafe scenery in BKK. Check them out at St. 306.
