Cambodia Snapshots: Silver Pagoda, Phnom Penh’s Royal Palace

All Around Cambodia, Cambodia Snapshots, Phnom Penh / Saturday, September 8th, 2012

This is one stunning structure. The Silver Pagoda (official name – Preah Vihear Preah Keo Morakot and Wat Preah Keo for Khmers), Royal Palace, Kingdom of Cambodia. Snapped this shot from the side view and while the place is not massive nor is it that arresting at first glance, it is undeniably ornate and just beautiful. If you love details like me, you’d fall for this.

The temple houses gold and jeweled statues and it is also inlaid with about 5000 silver tiles. Photography is not allowed inside though so this is all we get.
