Living in Phnom Penh: Good to Be Back!
Last week has not been a very good one for me. Chinks came home from school last week sneezing and coughing a bit. We brought her to our family doctor and he gave her some medicine for colds and cough and she got better in a few days time. Then, it was my turn to have cold and before I knew it I was running a fever.
What I thought to be something that would go away within a day or two. It’s really a rarity for me to get sick and have to be in bed so I get really cranky and depressed when this happens. I still remember, last time I got sick was in 2007. Same thing, a flu. Anyway, I stayed home most of the time, I had to be indoors coz I’m really prone to asthma and bronchitis whenever I have colds so I try to avoid dust, and its dusty here in Phnom Penh (as in!). I also missed meeting Phnom Penh friends 🙁 and I was looking forward to some girlie chika-chika..
It’s really boring to be cooped at home with not much energy to do anything, I mean I could update my blogs but I didn’t have enough motivation and was running a fever most of the time. It’s also a bad time for me to get sick, we don’t have a maid and Hi-ace’s schedule is packed. He’s teaching at two universities this semester plus he also has office work in RUPP. He barely has time to grab a meal and when he gets home he’s dead tired and I don’t want to bug him to help with housework. He’s even swearing now that this is the last time he’s going to accept classes in two schools.
So you can really imagine now how high the laundry pile is. At least Hi-ace has been sweeping and mopping the floors which is always an urgent thing for us (both me and Chinks have asthma). As for the cooking part, well it was usually takeout or I called Ma and she just had food delivered to us.
The only good thing about this is that, even if I was sedentary for the last few days, I lost about 5 lbs. Hahaha. Which I’m sure I’ll be gaining back again in the next few days now that I am ok. I’m just picking up again my workout routine with Aerokaebo and HipHopAbs and some walking exercises. I think this would work better for me anyway..
Hayy! I’m just so pleased I feel a lot better now. So, I really should get on with things to-do on my list..
