Living in Phnom Penh: Just Back..

General, Living in Phnom Penh / Sunday, May 16th, 2010

Got home last night and to be honest, I didn’t want to go online. I kinda got into the nice unhurried schedule of the past three days that I didn’t want to break the status quo and get to work again.

We’ve been to Siem Reap, Cambodia since Thursday. We really just had a bit of temple hopping, eating, massages, walking and eating again. It was good to be away and we also had fun showing Ouwie, the major temples of the Angkor Archeological Park. We just did the mini-tour of Angkor since it was soooo hot and all the other out of the way temples we’ll just visit again next time. Anyway, I’ll be posting more about the trip soon.

I had also been in a ‘pissed off’ mood because while we were not here our neighbors started drilling a foundation for their house renovation. Their lot is very adjacent to ours so the drilling tremors shook the house pretty badly. Nothing really happened except that my desktop PC I think has been shaken so badly coz its located near the wall where they are drilling. And my desktop is where I blog and I keep a lot of my files coz well its fast and has a lot of disk space. But now it won’t turn on!!

I wanted to scream my frustration but I don’t think this will accomplish me anything. So were having some technicians to check it out. Meanwhile, I’m confined to blogging with a laptop and I don’t really like it, for some reason I’ve gotten used to the tornado-speed of my desktop. Anyway, I hope something could be done to make it work without me needing to reformat it, coz whhhaaa! I really don’t want to lose any data. I have a backup but the photos for our last Kep trip was in there and I don’t have other copies. And also some more files for some web design projects.

I really don’t wanna get mad about the computer thing coz no one is at fault so I’m treating myself to a little office furniture shopping this afternoon. I wanna buy myself a nice swivel chair to go with my desk. Shopping is really the best way for me to cool off and calm down hehe..

Desktop glitches aside, I’m glad to be back. Hmmm, I think I am staying put for the whole month of May since I’m already badly sunburned and Chinks too. Though I can’t say the same for Hi-ace coz he’s already excitedly researching Ratanakiri tours..
